I love tattoos. I think they are one of the most beautiful forms of self-expression. Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and certainly...not ALL tattoos are beautiful to everyone.
As much as I love tattoos, I only have one right now - a small black tree frog on the inside of my left ankle. I got it when I was 19 and didn't know any better. Good thing I went into Natural Resources for my career or it might feel extra cliche since frogs starting getting big in the late 90's.
However, on May 24th, I will be getting tattoo #2 and #3. On my nipples.
I'm so excited!
This journey of permanently preventing breast cancer started October 25, 2011 and will be complete in 3 1/2 more months. I can't tell you how relieved, elated, and a little bit proud I am that I survived this adventure. Cause lemme tell ya...2 weeks after my mastectomies? I didn't think I would survive.
So, back to the tattoos. This will be a cinch after all three surgeries I've had! It doesn't hurt that I won't feel it, either :)
